Description

In this lesson, the student will gain familiarity with a religious holiday, which is her favorite topic.Then tries to remove her pronunciation mistakes, enrich vocabulary and understand the meaning of the sentences while skimming and reading. Finally, she will share her own ideas and her experience about the topic

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

1. Greet with her 2. Ask her how she spent her weekend 3. Ask her to look at the picture of the reading 4. Ask her what she thinks they are doing 5. Show her a short video.

Pre-Reading/Listening (3-4 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

1. Show her you power point 2. Ask her to match the pictures with the words and phrases 3. Help her if she has any difficulty understanding the meaning of them CCQs: Fast a. Do you eat food? (No) b. While-Reading/Listening #2 (3-4 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

1. Ask her to read the reading aloud and pay careful attention to her fluency 2. Ask her the following questions: a. What is Ramadan? b. What is the typical greeting in Ramadan? c. What do Muslims do on Ramadan? d. What is Eid ul-Fitr? 3. Ask her to make a question of the reading and answer it

Post-Reading/Listening (3-4 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

1.Ask her what she usually does in Ramadan 2. Ask her to talk about her first experience of fasting 3. Ask her what she feels while fasting
