Description

In this lesson the students learn simple present tense. the ESA (PPP) strategy is used in this lesson. It start with a warm up and exposure, then presentation and at last production which is a speaking part.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

At this stage I'm going to talk about facts,habits and daily routines that a person can have in his/her life and engage the students by asking about their routines or some fact about themselves.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Students are going to listen to an engineer who is talking about her job. at this stage students provided with a text and they have to underline the verbs and be familiar with present simple tense.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

the teacher presents the grammar and clarifies the structures while engaging the students by asking questions and letting them participate and be active in class.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

At this stage students are going to have some controlled and semi-controlled drills,like gap filling and unjumbling practices to improve their writing skill and consolidate the structures in their minds.

Free Practice (10-15 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

At last, some cue cards would be given to students, which is about daily routines, their habits or what food they like. they have to talk about themselves with their partner and they can ask other students the questions which is in their hands.
