To provide product writing practice of a postcard in the context of travel.
To provide scan and detailed reading of a postcard to check for completeness.
Procedure (42-46 minutes)
Students will be shown about 15 pictures of landmarks. Students will be asked to consider why they are being shown these pictures. Students will be asked what pictures of landmarks and travel have in common.
T will share postcard written for class. T will share target language: phrases commonly communicated on a post card. "Going Great" "Really Enjoy" "Having a blast" Talk to you later/soon Take Care T will share MFP for TL (Google Slides) Ss will be asked to identify different sections of the postcard: (Addressee, greeting, travel and activity update, closing)
Students will compose their own postcard. Early completers will find a picture that would accompany their postcard. Students will work by themselves.
