  • To provide gist, scan and detailed reading practice using a text about "My Bucket List" in the context of the three characters' different bucket lists.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Introducing Learning Outcomes (0-1 minutes) • Students come to a common understanding about the purpose and goals of the lesson.

Teacher will show the learning outcomes and will ask volunteer students to read.

Pre-Reading (5-7 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Teacher will pre-teach possible vocabulary words that might hinder students' understanding of the text. Class feedback

While-Reading #1 (4-5 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

Before the students are exposed to the reading text, they should see the first reading task first. Class feedback.

While-Reading #2 (4-5 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks
