Description

In this lesson I will get to know the students, I will set an activity to get to know them a little and to establish rules and commitments from both sides. Then I will have them register in a platform for activities I will assign to help them improve their skills vocabulary and grammar. Finally, I will set a reading competition and allow them to interact a bit.

Materials

Main Aims

  • To provide deduction reading practice using a text about books and famous quotations in the context of literature that inspires

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a discussion in teams in the context of how can they use the quotes int heir own lives to become better human beings

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Students will watch my video and will record their own to get to know them

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of the task and highlight useful words and phrases

I will present ss with the rules and commitments and they will write theirs. I will then instruct them to check-in teams the quotes and I will put them in bors.

Task (8-10 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Students will then discuss as a whole and exchange their ideas and inspiration

Planning (6-8 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to plan students' reports

Ss will create a 5 question questionnaire to ask other teams . The winner will be the team that best answers them

Report (6-8 minutes) • To allow students to report on how they did the task and how it went

Ss will describe shortly their favorite ones

Language Analysis (6-8 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the task language

Language Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with practice of the task language

Assignment for homework SS will share their favorite quotation of all times and the reason why they are inspired by it.
