T draws a picture of a brain and a storm light and ask the students "what do they think they will do?" (brainstorm) T draws a mind map with "2030" in between. T shows a picture of a Tom cruise in a sci fi movie... Check some questions -what's in the picture? " a scene of a movie" -who is he? " Tom cruise" -Is it a comedy movie? "Sci fi" T shows another picture of a popular Turkish science fiction movie..gets the ss to talk about it.. After presenting the target language T give the ss some cards with a word on them (e.g. UFO/ (unidentified flying object)a flying object that cannot be identified and is thought by some to be an alien spacecraft) Students will work in pairs to go around the class to pick a definition for the words they have.
