Vocabulary

Description

In this lesson students will learn a new vocabulary through the PPP teaching method. ( Before the class starts, the teacher asks the students to bring some toys with them.)

Procedure

Warmer/lead in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students.

The class starts with a video about shopping from a toy store, which contains the target words. Some questions such as "what do you see at the store?" will be asked after the video finished.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a situation.

The teacher brings a bag full of different toys and say" this is my bag, I'v got lots of things in it" get the students attention and ask if they have the same object or not, e.g. this is my call, do you have a dall? Show me your dall please. And ask them to repeat the words.

Controlled practice (4-5 minutes) • To have Ss listen foe specific information

Give Ss papers which include pictures. Then play a track and ask them to circle the picture of each target word they hear. They stop by each picture as they hear the word and repeat the word.

Controlled practice (7-8 minutes) • To prepare students for free practice

Separate students into groups. Using students' own toys to have more practice on the vocabulary. Ask them to put their tools into their bags, close their eyes, touch the tools and try to guess what is in there. The winner group will a positive!

Free practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Students play hangman. The students divided into two groups. Each time one student from each group come to the board and the other members try to guess the word( depending on the lesson). The winner group won't have any homework!
