In this lesson, students will be put into situations of listening first and also speaking ability.The context is about The Recruitment Agency. Vocabulary about the context will be reviewed and then the teacher will test them through their listening skills.

Main Aims

  • To provide them understanding of specific information in a listening activity about job interview.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To give students practice in speaking for fluency.


Lead in (5-7 minutes) • To set the context of the lesson and engage students

T will start the lesson with a picture on WB which was taken from the Internet for this activity. T will give them some time for discussing what it is in pair work.Then the teacher will try to elicit the words which are related to our subjects 'Recruitment Agency'.

Pre Listening (10-13 minutes) • To familiarise students with the subject before listening task

I will open one of my cv on WB and talk about it qualifications, interests,experiences,what should they wear for that.....Then,I will hand out some sample cv's but before that I will explain them what are we going to do.First I want them to think about they are managers and they are looking for a good-qualified customer service assistant.I will make them two groups-two groups of managers, they will check out the cv's that I give them and by discussing with their groups they will decide which one is the best to hire.

Listening (10-12 minutes) • To provide students the idea of getting the general information when listening

T will prepare Ss for the listening, by introducing the two characters and writing on the WB "Where?'' and "What is happening?". Then, I will am going to give them clear instructions about what they are searching for in this listening task.After they listen to the track, I will let them discuss the answers with their partners and then give me the answers.

Listening Continued (5-6 minutes) • To provide them clearer listening activity

Teacher chunks the listening track into two parts. For this time, I am going to listen to second part of the track for understanding what advices are given?

Post Listening (6-8 minutes) • To encourage students to talk about what they've learned

T will write down a series of questions on WB for SS to ask each other like do you agree with Davina's advice? What is the best thing to do in an interview? And What would say to Ruby?, then T will make them work in pairs or mingle in the classroom to find the answers.
