Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of body parts in the context of My body

Subsidiary Aims

  • To use the target vocabulary in the controlled speaking activities in the context of body parts.
  • To practice by listening to specific information in the context of body parts.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (0-2 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Greeting the students, conducting a good rapport. Then, play a game of Simon Says with the different body parts you introduced. ex. Simon says" touch your head" " close your eyes" " shhhhhhh"

Exposure (2-3 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through illustrations

T shows flashcards, T asks questions for each card "What's this?" - T elicits the answer from the Ss. If NO- T tries to promote or lips moving technique. ex. T "What's this"? SA: "nose- shoulders- leg, etc...." T asks CCQ's (B.S: optional depends on the word's level of English) Ss answer the CCQ's. T drills, models and highlights the stress.

Controlled Practice (2-3 minutes) • To practice the target language.

1st controlled practice\ match the picture and the words *T shares handouts to the Ss. T gives instructions about the next activity- divides the Ss into PW. *T asks ICQ's, T starts to conducts and demonstrates the activity. *T monitors the Ss, checks the if the activity goes smooth as planned or if some Ss need promoting. *S-PW checking answers. *T provides answer keys. *T encourages and give away the winners. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2nd controlled practice\ word swatter game (optional if there is enough time)

Free Practice (4-5 minutes) • Familiarizing students with the pronunciation of the words by playing videos and sing along.
