Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T shows learners some pictures T asks questions : who are they? where are they? Do you like sports? Do you do sports?

Pre-Reading/Listening (3-5 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

T asks ss a question . The text is about 1. Sports 2. playing game 3. activies people do

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

T asks learners to read and answers True and False questions

Highlighting target language (3-5 minutes) • To highlight the target language so that learners are focused on it

T asks ss to underline or read some sentences from the text about the present simple for example : 1. Judges give points for ball and original moves 2. People organise gaming parties 3. Ten people injure themselves every week. 4. Players don't hit the ball

Clarifying target language (10-10 minutes) • To provide clarification of the meaning, form (and pronunciation) of the target language in context

T does some CCQS : Is playing football an activity? Do you play foorball every day? Do you play games 1 time a week? T writes the setences from ss and elicites the form Is the word people a subject ? Yes Hurt is a verb? a base verb or a helping verb? verb Football is a subject or an object? object. T write the positive form of the sentences : Subjects + base verbs + objects T write the negative form of the sentences : Subjects+ do + not + base verbs+ objects

Controlled Practice (5-7 minutes) • To provide controlled oral/written practice focused on using the language accurately
