Description

In this lesson, students are going to learn the Structure of the simple present tense focusing on positive and interrogative sentences.

Materials

Abc -Google slides presentation

Main Aims

  • By the end of the lesson, learners will have practiced the simple present structure within the context of holidays.

Subsidiary Aims

  • Learners will have also practiced their writing and speaking related to the main topic.

Procedure

Lead-in (5-7 minutes) • Setting the context of Simple present.

- Students will see some photographs showing different holiday activities. - Students will see if they recognize them and will discuss if they can name other activities.

Presentation through the text (7-9 minutes) • The students will identify the simple present in the context of holidays

-Students will read the text -Students will relate the text with the images and related them with their own experiences. -Have they tried something similar? -Would they like to give it a chance?

Clarification (5-7 minutes) • Cover Meaning, Form & Pronunciation

- Meaning: understand the meaning of the usage of those questions (when to use that questions) - Form: formula for positive and interrogative (simple present) and for negative (not mandatory) - Pronunciation: repeating the question

Controlled practice (15-17 minutes) • Students will practice what they learned by completing some exercises.

• Students will complete the sentences using the verb in the correct form. • Students will change positive sentences into interrogative sentences.

Freer practice (10-12 minutes) • Students will practice the simple present speaking since the perspective of their own experiences.

- Instructions: Students will create a fake dialogue about what they like after listening to the teacher.
