Students will learn the grammatical structure to form Simple Present sentences (afirmative, interrogative & negative)

  • To provide scan reading practice using a text about Hobbies & skills in the context of About me project (similar to a CV)

Procedure

Lead-in (4-7 minutes) • Setting the context of Simple present.

Sharing images related to a personal introduction. Asking the students What can you see in the images? Are they tallking about the past, the present or the future? How?

Presentation through the text (8-10 minutes) • Setting the context with the main topic

1. Read the text 2. Identify Simple present structures in the text. 3. Task. Students will write down the sentences that refer to present simple.

Clarification (5-7 minutes) • Cover Meaning, Form & Pronunciation

1. Video explaining the structure of Simple Present tense covering the meaning and the form. 2. Polishing details related to the structure and and possible problems understanding it. 3. Explaining the pronunciation.

Controlled practice (6-9 minutes) • Controlled practice

1. Task one: complete the sentences with the correct form of the verb 2. Task two: to turn sentences from excercise one into interrogative sentences.
