Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-7 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Introduction topic: Music events Start a conversation related with music and student´s experience. Suggested questions for initial discussion: - Have you been in a… - Concert? - Bar? - Dance club? - Music festival? - Opera? Main purpose: Introduce to the topic it will be discussed for the following activities

Pre-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Activity 0.- This or that? There will be displayed two images and students have to pick from two options, these options will include main events on listening track ( club, music festival, jazz concert) Vocabulary explanation: By the end of these slides, specific vocabulary is displayed preventing complicated words for listening activity, students have to practice pronunciation. Teacher initially pronounce words and ask to each student to repeat it. (concert, clubbing festival)

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

Teacher will share pdf file with 3 activities. Suggested: “Now we are going to listen a conversation between two people (Alan and Lucy), and they are going to talk about their experience in music events” Initial listening to audio, students have to understand the main idea of the conversation in order to answer activity 1 Teacher will let students get the first listen, then students will be divided into breakout rooms in order to let them discuss what their answer. Teacher will jump from room to room to listen conversation between students and interact if needed. Students will be back to main room and solve questions.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (12-14 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

Activity 2: Teacher will ask for students to get specific information from audio, students have to read previously the sentences in order to be aware what information they have to focus on. Students will divide students into breakout rooms to let students compare and discuss their answers. Students will be back to main room and solve questions. Activity 3 Students have to decide from 2 options and mark the correct answer, there are 8 spots to be filled for each student. After its answer, teacher will play the extract and ask back if they are correct or not.

Post-Reading/Listening (5-7 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Final recap Teacher will resume topics discussed during session, he will ask about new vocabulary and enlist vocabulary used related with music events and enhance students to practice its pronunciation.
