Procedure

Lead-in (2-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Teacher ask students to think about some advice to new english students that are just starting to learn the language. Students give some ideas and teacher write down in the presentation eliciting the language of the lesson.

Exposure (10-12 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

Ss do Task 1 reading a list of advice from experts and then match every advice with the profession of the expert. 1. Take every opportunity to use the language speaking to foreigners in chat rooms, whatever and try to resist the temptation to translate everything word for word. Sometimes it just isn’t posible!. Answer: Language Teacher. 2. You should never wear something just because everyone else is wearing it. Always remember, wear what you feel comfortable wearing and what looks good on you. Fashion is about expressing your own identity. Answer: Fashion Journalist. 3. Be careful not to overdo it. You might easily injure yourself if you’re not used to taking exercise. Answer: Personal Trainer. 4. Of course you should make on effort be friendly, but at the same time make sure you don’t appear too keen or over-friendly as this can put people off. Useful Language (10-12 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

Teacher use language from the reading to explain dos and don`ts eliciting answers from the Ss. It is a good moment to practice the pronunciation. Teacher will make some drilling with students chorally and individually. Then Ss do Task 2 to classify into dos, don'ts or both, filling a Google Form. 1. Always remember to… Answer: Dos 2. Productive Task(s) (14-16 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

T. gives the students a list of some activities and ask them to make a list of 4 Dos and don'ts for that topic. - How to dress well. - How to stay fit. - How to travel on a low budget. - How to learn to play a musical instrument. - How to use of social media properly. - How to give up smoking or drinking alcohol. - How to make friends. - How to drive a car. - How to cook easy and delicious. Students work in pairs on BORs. Then students share with another peer that have other topic and ask for ideas to complete their list. Students work in pairs on BORs.

Feedback and Error Correction (2-4 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

Correct language used on the productive tasks and final feedback.
