A lesson designed to extend Ss vocabulary range about good and bad adjectives.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification and practice of adjectives for good & bad

Subsidiary Aims

  • Ss will improve their listening skill.

Procedure

Lead in (2-3 minutes) • Provide context: Adjectives to describe good & bad nouns.

T talk about good and bad situations and check Ss comprehension with CCQs. Ss talk in pairs of 2 about good and bad situations they know.

Board Race (2-3 minutes) • Check Ss comprehension

T divide the board in 2 sections - Good & Bad T divide class in 2 groups (Teams) Ss line up in 2 rows racing against each other matching the adjectives in the correct column. 2nd round with slips of papers were adjectives are written with incorrect order of letters. Example: snfatatci (Fantastic)

Drilling vocabulary (2-3 minutes) • Ss learn correct pronunciation and intonation

T uses different drilling techniques to provide a clear understanding of pronunciation and intonation.

Drilling adjectives in context (3-3 minutes) • Deeper understanding when and how to use the new learned vocabulary

T put "good & bad adjectives" in a context

Matching activity #4 (5-5 minutes) • Practicing listening.

Ss listen to the recording and match the nouns from the left side with the adjectives from the right side.

Continue the conversation. (5-5 minutes) • Ss practice vocabulary with short conversations

Ss work in pairs of 2 to continue the conversations. Once the 1st turn is finished, they change the roles and start again.

An amazing story (10-15 minutes) • Ss practice is tending and speaking

T collects a lot of nouns from Ss and make a story out of it. Ss have to response in a appropriate way.
