Description

In this lesson, the students are going to be exposed to more vocabulary about describing their feelings.

Materials

Abc Gap-fill handout and speaking exercises

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification and practice of Words to describe feelings in the context of firsts and lasts

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of describing feelings

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will hand them a handout of the activity, find someone who. They are going to walk across the room and ask questions and write their names down.

Test #1 (3-5 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

I'm going to hand them a handout. They are going to match some words of describing feelings to the emoticons. They are going to do that alone.

Teach (10-15 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

I'm going to show them some pictures, and ask them CCQs so I can elicit the word, meaning, form and stress from them.

Test #2 (5-10 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

I'm going to hand them a handout that contains choices. They are going to do it alone first, then they are going to check in pairs.

Free practice (10-20 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

I'll hand them a handout that contains some different A and B questions, and they will ask each other, so they can practice speaking about describing their feelings fluently.
