Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-7 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Individually or in pairs, the students will talk about an experience they had staying with another family other that their's. If they haven't had a similar experience they can discuss what could happen if they lived with another family? Who would they be? And Why would they live with that family?

Pre-Reading/Listening (3-5 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Before reading I will pre-teach the blocking vocabulary that the students might not know if there is any. I will clearly provide MPF (meaning, pronunciation and form) for each word. 1. Meaning: eliciting the meaning by asking questions and asking CCQs. 2. Pronunciation: IPA and Chorally drilling. 3. Mentioning the type of the word. If there are no blocking words, I will spend more time on setting the context.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-15 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

At this stage of the lesson the students will be engaged in various reading tasks. These task will allow them to improve their scanning, gist and reading for details/deeper understanding skills. I will provide support and feedback on the language while the students are working on their tasks. After each Task the students will briefly share their thoughts with me.

Post-Reading/Listening (10-15 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

In this free practice the students will discuss/ guess and make assumptions about what might happen next in part 4. They have to be specific and provide logical reasons for their claims.
