By the end of the lesson students will be better able to use free time activities vocabulary about different seasons and months.
By the end of the lesson students will be able to understand specific information from different conversations related to free time activities.
Procedure (33-45 minutes)
Teacher displays the photos of the seasons and asks Ss some questions about it.Ss try to guess the topic.Teacher elicits the seasons and months from Ss and models and drills.
Teacher asks Ss to answer the questions in Ex1.Ss work in pairs.Teacher asks ICQs like "Are we writing?", " Are we speaking?" Teacher monitors and gives feedback. Pairs answer the questions.
Teacher asks Ss to match the activities with pictures in Ex 2.Teacher asks ICQs.Ss are in groups.Teacher monitors to notice problematic items to deal further. Ss give the answers.Teacher provides modelling and drilling. Teacher concept checks the new vocabulary. Teacher asks Ss to match the activities with the seasons. Ss do pair work ,teacher monitors and provides feedback if neccessary.
Teacher asks students to listen to the conversations and find what people do in their free time. Teacher asks ICQs to set clear taks and plays the first conversation as an example.Ss work alone and then peer check.Teacher plays the recording again to let the students check their answers.Teacher checks with class.
Teacher chooses a student to predict what he/she likes doing.Teacher asks students to predict whtat the teacher likes doing and elicits answers without confirming.Ss work in groups and notes down the possible activities that the teacher might like doing.Then Ss ask teacher questions as stated in the example on the book to find out if they are correct.Teacher models and drills if neccessary
Teacher builds a dialogue with two students from class and shows an example on the book.The teacher ask students to think of responses and students work in pairs.Teacher monitors.Then teacher tell true things about himself and encourage the learners to respond his likes and dislikes.Teacher asks students to create dialogues as in the example.Ss work in group of three.
