Main Aims

  • by the end of this lesson, the students are supposed t o discuss and practice speaking skill about the topic of ceremonies and weeding parties to develop fluency and accuracy

Subsidiary Aims

  • To assist the students to indicate to their ideas regarding to allowing them to write a paragraph about the target topic so it is a way to practice writing during the topic of the speaking skill

Procedure

introduction • greeting the students

I am going to enter the classroom telling the students hello - asking about their conditions

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-the lead in will be seen through : -telling the students that we are going to talk about parties to engage them -posting a question on the board " what did you do in the last party you attended" -saying the rule to answer this you have to raise your hand and stand up and act -the whole class is guessing what is that " dancing/singing........

Teaching vocublary (8-10 minutes) • To provide a time for the students to have a range of vocublary before speaking

-display this picture then asking eliciting questions -what can you see in this picture?(a man wearing black suit and a lady wearing white dress) -do you think they have an occasion? yes -Are they many people around them? yes as it is a party. -so, is it private occasion ? Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

controlled practice -the students will be divided into pairs for 8 minutes to answer this then discuss them with the whole class -icq -Are you going to work in pairs or groups? pairs -how many minutes.......? 8 minutes When was the last wedding party you attended? Who were the bride and her groom? What is the social relation between you and them? What did you do on the day of their marriage? Did you enjoy the wedding party? What were you wearing in the party? freer practice: they will be asked to work indvidually for 8 minutes to do a writing task and the student will share it with his/her peer as a speaking task icq Are you going to work in pairs or alone? alone -how many minutes.......? 8 minutes Write a paragraph expressing your opinion if it is a good act to attend the wedding party of any one you.you have to mention your opinion freely and why you think like that. And also mention a situation of one of the parties that you come to it and reaction of the bride and her groom.

simulation /Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

You are required to create a project it will be about a debate.you will be asked to represent it next time.the debate will be about wedding parties.do you support to attend and bring a gift for the bride and her groom or you think that there is no need for that as long as they are not one of yours and this will be for the next time icq should you prepare a play or a debate? debate Are you going to prepare alone?no ,in groups feed back . i will let the student reflect his ideas about his/her performance and i will encourage the peer observation.
