In this lesson:Students learn about difference between men and women psychologically and mentally through a guided discovery based on reading a text about differences between men and women .The lesson starts with a discussion about gender interests ,differences as well as similarities .Finally there is some controlled practice through MCQ exercise followed by a free controlled practice by role play speaking Activity

Main Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a Discussion in the context of Men vs women

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide scan reading practice using a text about Difference between men and women in the context of Gender differences

Procedure

Pre reading discussion (4-6 minutes) • Prepare my students to the lesson

1- I will show up some pictures and ask them to brainstorm the topic of today 2- I will listen, takes answers

Vocabularies (5-7 minutes) • Help them to brainstorm the new words

1- I will show them some pictures with the words of today's session 2- students brainstorm and make examples like the given example in the slide

While reading (5-6 minutes) • Students skim the test to answer the questions

1- I will assign the students into groups 2- students read questions first to search for the information in the text 3- I will ask them to go to the link and answer the questions after which they assess themselves by clicking to show their degrees up

Post reading (6-10 minutes) • Students speak about changing roles

1- I will ask my students to do a role play 2- I will ask my students to act as if they were the opposite gender in a form of a dialogue 3- students act out the dialogue
