Description

In this lesson ss will review WH questions, how to tell the time, and present simple grammar to communicate about Vicky's daily life. We will drill how to tell the time, practice listening as well, and practice intonation of the question forms. "What time is it?". Then we will communicate about Vicky's daily morning routine in present simple tense, then tell our partners about our daily routine.

Main Aims

  • By the end of the lesson Ss will have been introduced to and practiced how to tell time, ask Wh- questions, and say the present simple tense referring to Vicky's daily life.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To practice listening for information

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (1-2 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Focus Ss' attention on the Power Point pictures and try to elicit as much information for them as possible. For example: What do you see? Why is running? Is he worried (facial) or calm (body movement)? What is he looking at? Today we are talking about time!

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through speaking and listening.

We are learning about the time! What time is it? Do you hear the music? (Hand/Intonation demonstration) Explaining the clock. British Time. - Clock & Class Repetition. Go through the WHOLE clock. Repeat the time. Focus is on intonation of Wh- questions, and being familiar with the time. Focus is also on using Present Simple Tense. Concept checking by, Class drill Listening Speaking

Useful Language (0-0 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks. They will learn how to say Wh- Questions and practice using Present Simple Tense.

Productive Tasks (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language
