In this lesson, students will learn about different parts of the body. They will learn through actions, singing, and watching short videos. They'll learn about triangles, number 5, brown and black colors.

Main Aims

  • By the end of the lesson, the students should recognize different parts of the body.

Subsidiary Aims

  • to know about black and brown colors.
  • count from 1 to 5 and recognize the numbers.
  • learn about triangles


Warmer/Lead-in (3-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-start by greeting and review colors and numbers. -teach number 5 , brown and black colors. (use numbers and colors flashcards)

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

-Play head, shoulders, knees , and toes song -Cut page 21 of the workbook and make flashcards -Play with flashcards

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

-I instruct students to repeat the song first. (2-3 times practicing in the classroom) then instruct them to watch the video and repeat the moves (2-3 times) - teach triangle. (ask them to draw a triangle for me)

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

-listen to the CD (track A22 and A23) -repeat the body parts and ask: Touch your nose, etc. -ask them to sing the song and do the actions

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Finish the class by review colors, numbers, triangles, and parts of the body. -make the dice and play.
