Description

In this lesson, the SS will have practiced the vocabulary related to classification of animals and how he knows the different features of different animals Also, they should be able to practice speaking in pairs and in groups, as well.

Main Aims

  • By the end of this lesson, the SS will have practiced the meaning, pronunciation, and form of the new words in the context of "classify different animals"

Subsidiary Aims

  • • By the end of the lesson, the ss should have practiced speaking for fluency in the context of "How animals are different?"

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Display a video about "different animals" and ask the Ss what is the different and the similarities between these animals

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

* Allow the ss to check the meaning of the used words and phrases before exposing the ss to the topic. *Create interest by focusing ss' attention on the photos. *Discuss briefly what issues they deal with. *Check the meaning of strict law and rights. *Work through the first example to demonstrate before putting the class into groups to categorize the phrases that describe them. )(Using numbers).

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

Highlighting and clarification To draw students' attention to the target language and clarify the meaning, form, and pronunciation. elicit the meaning of the following words: mammals , reptiles ,and amphibians by displaying pictures, synonyms and antonyms, explaining further details or giving further examples. - Highlight the meaning, pronunciation, form, and phonological features of the given phrases, words, or sentences. -Concept check the meaning of any word you may feel the ss are still not sure about it. -Drill the target language. -write or display the meaning, form and pronunciation on the board.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

-In groups of 5, Ss they will classify the group of animals cards and name each group . -Each SS should give an example for each group of animal and mention their features

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

i will make competition between the student by asking them about their favorite animals and which group they belong to ,who answer right first will choose another student to ask him . -then we they can play interactive game together on quizzes
