To provide product writing practice of an online diary entry in the context of travel
To provide gist reading practice using a text about an online entry in the context of travel.
To provide review and practice of conjunctions in the context of an online diary entry about travel.
Procedure (35-45 minutes)
Ss match words and photos in Jamboard, they are survival skills. Then they have to mime the word the teacher point on Jamboard. Example: Sad, students show sad faces.
Ss look at an image an answer the question, What are they doing, students write their answers in the chatbox. After that T shows the answer on the board. Next T present a text, students read and answer two questions, they submit their answers in quizziz. Now, T presents three sentences from the text.
Ss look at the highlighted words in the sentences, students answer in quizziz, writing the words to complete the sentences about conjunctions. Then Ss rewrite sentences using these conjunctions.
T share with students a HO with a model and steps to follow, T presents the fist two steps to follow, Ss plan what are they writing about in 2 min. Then Ss go to Jamboard where S have a slide, they write their online diary entry using the useful language presented during the lesson. In pairs they check their work and leave sticky notes with comments to his/her partner.
Teacher writes sticky notes to praise every students work on their use of the target language and underline some mistakes to correct. Then share some of them on the board, elicit ideas with students to improve their work.
