Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T will ask Ss to anticipate the topic for the task with a picture. Then T will ask students to discuss some questions in breakout rooms. Ss will have 2 minutes to discuss the questions. After they return, T will evoke from students the answers they discussed in the breakout rooms

Test #1 (7-7 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

T will instruct students to open a Google forms multiple choice task. T will give students 2 minutes to complete the task. After they finish, students will have 2 minutes to discuss their answers with their partners. T will show students the answer key and correct mistakes if needed

Teach (15-15 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

T will show students more sentences using the TL. T will ask students to discuss the following questions. Who is doing the action? Who is recieving it? Does it take place in the past? Is the action a fact or a prediction? Ss will have 3 minutes to discuss their answers in pairs. After this T will clarify Meaning/use for the target language. To teach form T will ask students to transform sentences in the active voice into the passive T will ask students what part of speech each word is. T will color code after students have discovered the form. For pronunciation T will repeat the sentences students have constructed, emphasizing stress and linking sounds. T will ask students to identify the stress in the sentence. T will capitalize the word that is stressed in the sentence. T will show a new sentence and ask students to pronounce it.

Test #2 (7-7 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

T will instruct students to answer a fill-in task about the TL. Ss will have 2 minutes to complete the task. After this, T will give students 2 minutes to discuss in pairs their answers. T will show students the answers and correct them if needed.

Free practice (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

T will instruct students to think about a food they like and how it's made. Ss give a step-by-step explanation to their partner about the process using the simple present passive and then listen to their partner's explanation. Ss must write them down and share them with the class. The class will try to guess what kind of food it is. Ss will have 6 minutes to discuss.
