Main Aims

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Show Ss teacher's pictures and labels in floating notes in Jamboard, they have to place them on the right picture, then they discuss in pairs: what do these pictures represent? Nominate one Ss to answer the question.

Exposure (6-8 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Ss will listen an audio in order to complete the information. Ss go to google forms, they read it quickly before they listen, T play the audio once, Ss complete the information in the google form. Check answers in pairs via private messages on the chat box) then OCFB.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

T provide the link, Ss go to google doc and choose the best option to complete the sentences. Check answers in pairs via private messages on the chat box and OCFB

Clarification (10-12 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Show Ss a timeline to explain when to use perfect tenses, what do they refer to. Uncover the structures taking the same examples in the previous activity. CCQs: Meaning: 1st sentence: Is she alive? Yes. Is there a specific moment mentioned in the past? No. 2nd sentence: Did it start in the past? Yes. Did it finish in the past? Yes. So, is it an incomplete action? No. 3rd sentence: Does it emphasize the completion of the action? Yes. Is it a projection? Yes. Is there a specific time (at the latest) to complete the action? Yes. Is he planning to see the movies after he is forty? No. Form: In the three sentences, Does the auxiliary change? Yes. Does the lexical verb change? No. Why did she feel happy? Because she had passed the driving test. Show them three different timelines and other examples in present, past and future perfect. Students create a list of achievements, T ask them to write at least five: two from their past, two from their present and one from their future. Ss post them in Jamboard, discuss in pairs in BOR and then share in the Feedback. In DEC T focus on the meaning and form.
