CELTA Teaching Practice 1
Beginner Adults level

Description

This lesson covers use of positive being verbs particularly in their contracted form. The concept will be presented by the teacher verbally soliciting and modeling statements with being verbs, including use of 'Is' 'Am' and 'Are' with the appropriate pronouns. Students will practice by contracting pronouns with verbs in sentences from a HO and by doing a fill-in-the-being-verb worksheet. Students will then verbally practice statements with being verbs in pairs with a speaking activity HO. All handouts are from Chantfield's Straight Forward: Beginner from MacMillian.
