Description

In this lesson students will practice Speaking Part 3 about Art as well as do a Reading to match sentence endings.

Abc Reading with questions

Main Aims

  • To provide detailed reading practice using a text about NASA's Orion Mars Ship in the context of Space Travel
  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a Conversation in the context of Art

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification of Grammatically correctness in the context of Space Travel
  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a Grammar, Pronunciation in the context of Art

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (10-15 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T will introduce herself and meet the students by speaking to them quickly addressing them one by one. T will give sts a template to use in this game as a warm up and to get them to speak. The game is named 'Are you honest?' It's a fun game just to get them to relaxT and speak.

Speaking Part 3 (40-45 minutes) • To provide detail to be able to answer the questions

T will give sts 6 specific questions about Art which they have to speak on. T will provide demo answers to the questions to which the sts have access to for about a minute to note down some points they can use to speak on - not the whole answer. Sts will then prepare 2 of the questions to speak on in the class when it's their turn.

Break Time (5-5 minutes) • To give sts a short break between the Speaking and Reading lesson.

Sts can switch off their cameras for 5 minutes.

Reading match sentence endings. (40-45 minutes) • To be able to match sentence endings and still have it grammatically correct.

T will give sts questions to quickly write down with the endings of the sentences. Then give them a paragraph at a time on the screen to look for key words about the question, then find the ending of the sentence to match it. T will show them how to do this incase they are unfamiliar with this. T will ask elicit the answers from them as we go along with the reading so that everyone can understand.

Wrap up and Homework (10-10 minutes) • To get sts to recap what they've learned and to check on their understanding or problems.

T will hand out the Reading homework for them to do in their own time.
