In this lesson: Ss will have a Lead-in about the aim of the lesson. It's about speaking through a game . To prepare them for the topic, I will give them some pictures to say what is happening through (CCQs). This is followed by writing what happen in the pictures. For controlled practice, Ss will answer the questions at SB p. 49 (10) through pair work. For semi controlled practice Ss will present all questions in a text. For free controlled practice Ss wiill speak about what happened with them through a real situation. The last would be a feedback.

Main Aims

  • • By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to speak about description for something happened to him through a real situation..

Subsidiary Aims

  • • By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to use past tense for description.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set a game and engage students

-T greets Ss and shows Ss an online game about the topic. -Ss are given two minutes to guess the game. - T elicits from the answers that Ss have an idea about the topic.

Exposure (3-5 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text

T shows a written short story on a slide related to the tense. T asks Ss to read the story. T elicits from Ss the past tense.

Highlighting (3-5 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

T shows Ss four pictures. Ss will say what happened in the pictures by using the past tense. T shows Ss a written sentences for what happened in the pictures.

Clarification (3-5 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

T asks Ss some questions related to the short story that was shown in the exposure stage by using wh questions to make sure Ss understand the wh questions. Ss answers the questions.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

T asks Ss to answer the questions at task 10 (A) p. 49 at SB. T asks one student to have playing roles with him by using the same questions. T makes pair work between Ss through breakout rooms. T chooses two Ss to practice.

Semi-Controlled Practice (6-7 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

T asks Ss to speak about the answers of the questions through a text. T gives Ss one minute to think of making the text. T chooses some students to speak.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

T asks Ss to speak about a real situation or what happened with you yesterday or last week.
