Main Aims

  • By the end of the lesson, students would be able to tell how twins are alike especially the idebtical twins even they are separatred since birth.

  • To provide practice in conversation in the context of how twins are alike especially the idetical ones

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

1-Greet students. 2-Display a picture of an identical twins 3-Ask ss ‘do you know some twins who are identical or unidentical?’ - 4- Ask about the similarities and differences between the identical twins

Pre-Reading/ (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Try to elicit as many words as I can because there are many new words. Introduce the meaning of the new difficult words through a story or a situation: 1. (upbringing) (n). My mother has taken care of since my birth till I got married. so she cared for my ....................... . Give students 10 seconds to think then say it twice , then drill it. Finally, write it on the board. Ask some CCQs to make sure they understand it well 2. adopted ( adj) If a parent does not have a child, he goes to the orphanage to take one of the children. So the father ....................... the child. ask some CCQs to make sure they understand it well. 3. separate. (v). While-Reading 1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

Show them the handout first. First, you are going to read the article on the opposite page quickly , then you decide which twins these sentences refer to. .Ask these ICQs: where is the news article? the opposite page. what will you do when you find with the twins that you find are related to the sentences? write their name next to the sentence . Ask them to check in pairs. Nominate for feedback.

Post-Reading (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Ask them about 1. how similar could the twins be even they are separated? 2. do you some twins who are identical? 3. what similarities have you noticed in the twins you know? 4. did you imagine that separated twins can have the same abilities ? why?
