Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-7 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students and teach some lexis

T: Hello everyone. How are you today ? - Sarah, how did you spend your time on weekend ? - Daniel, How have you been from last session ? T: guys In your pairs match these words with the pics. - Ss will go into the breakout rooms and the teacher will monitor them. -The teacher plays the audio and Ss will check their answers. CCQs : 1. If something amuses you, Is it funny ? (yes) 2. If something challenges you, Is it easy ? (no) 3. If something confuses you, Is it complicated ? (yes) 4. If something disgusts you, Is it nice ? (no) 5. If something embarrasses you, Do you feel good ?(no) 6. If something excites you, Is it fun ? (yes) 7. If somethings frightens you Is it scary ? (yes) 8. If something interests you, Is it fun ? (yes) - Then the teacher will show the pictures one by one and elicites each word then the class will do some drilling practices.

Exposure (2-3 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

-T : look at the picture. -T : Where are they ? What are they doing ? -T : Listen, read to yourself and then answer the questions. - The teacher gets feedback by asking for a volunteer.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

-T : guys, look at these dialogs. we have frightened and frightening. What is the difference between them ? - share your ideas with your partner. - The teacher is monitoring.

Clarification (3-5 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

-T : Remember the story. How did Paul feel when he heard the noise ? (frightened) - Why was he frightened ? (because he heard a noise) - If he was frightened, the noise was ... (frightening) - T asks somebody to read the slide and then she emphasises on sentences. CCQs: 1. Do we use ed adjectives for people and things ? (no, only people) 2. Do we use ing adjectives for people and things ? (yes) 3. which of them describes the feeling of a human ? (ed adjective) 4. which of them causes a feeling ? (ing adjective)

Controlled Practice (5-7 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

- The teacher will asks 2 more concept check questions which are on slides. - T: Choose the correct words individually in 2 minutes. ICQs: 1. Are going to choose the correct word or find yourself ? 2. how much time do you have ? 3. Individually or in pairs ? - after 2 mins the teacher asks Ss to share their answers in their pairs. - T asks a student for the feedback and that student should choose the next person.

Free Practice (6-8 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

-T: choose a topic, think about one of your experiences, take note and be prepared to tell the story to your partner. - The teacher will choose a student by chance and she or he should tell the story to the class.
