Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

show the students a picture taken from the book and give them a minute to look at it then ask them two questions about it what do you know about this place? - would you like to visit it?

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

SS will listen to a recording and have some tasks about this listening. first of all, they will be asked to number the pictures according to the order they hear them. after that, they will be eliciting blocking vocabulary ( MFP) and using CCQs to make sure that they understood the meaning for the coming tasks. e.g.: anniversary after giving the definition and an example. some CCQs : - is it for an event in the past or future? - do we usually celebrate? - Do you have a special one? what?

Highlighting (2-5 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

to make it easier for the students, students will be shown the script of the listening text and read it fast then try to match each word to the suitable word or phrase. T will do the first example head over to then they need to complete the others like: named ... after each student will try to do one at least

Clarification and controlled practice (10-11 minutes) • To clarify the meaning and classification of the steps of giving a tour with some common expressions

SS will be given some expressions used in giving a tour. And they are asked to classify them( leading the way, giving facts, commenting on facts) depending on the previous lessons and the listening and reading texts discussed early in the lesson. T will show one example of each category. Then students will be put in groups of 2 to complete the task. after that. e.g: circle back: leading the way surprisingly: commenting on facts it was destroyed: giving facts. this considered as clarification and controlled practice

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

- T will put students in groups in breakout rooms - Ss will be given( guiding a tour with its 3 stages ) without choices - ss will work to gether depending on the previous discussions and fill in the blanks - CCQs will be used to check the students understanding of the concept - T will as Ss some ICQs to check their understanding of the task - T will keep monitoring the ss - after finishing the task SS will be given the answer key and Feedback on their work preparing them for freer activity

Free Practice (9-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language ( guiding a tour ) in their own city
