Main Aims

  • By the end of the lesson, students will be better able to recognize and understand vocabulary related daily activities.

Subsidiary Aims

  • By the end of the session, Students will be better able to speak about their daily activities using the vocabulary taught to them.

Procedure

Lead-in (1-2 minutes) • to engage the student and pique their interest to the context.

1. I will let the Ss watch a video about daily activities. 2. I will try to elicit the word " daily activities " 3. I will ask some CCQs a) Are these activities repeated? b) Do we do them every day ?

Test #1 (2-3 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

1. I will demonstrate how to do Activity ! 2.Students will do Activity 1 individually. 3. I will let the Ss check their answers in pairs. 4. I give them quick feedback but I'm not going to teach.

Teach (5-7 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

1. Contextualize each word by any of these means ( visual aids or situations) 2. Elicitation. 3.Then ask CCQs to make sure they get the meaning. 4. Drilling 5. Write the words on a whiteboard to avoid misspelling.

Test #2 (3-5 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

1. I will let the students do activity 2 to check they can use the target language. 2. I will check if they understand " chatting, hang out , housework Vs homework" 3. I will encourage Ss to use as many different starting phrases as possible. 4. Ss will speak in pairs.

Free practice (2-3 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

1. I will demonstrate with one of the students. 2. Then I will let them do it in pairs. 3. quick finishers will change roles. 4. I will give content and language feedback at the end.
