Main Aims

  • To provide product writing practice in the context of writing a blog post: Do’s and Don’ts for successful socializing.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification in the context of Dos and Don'ts.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Instructions: Have learners talk 1 or 2 questions related to socialising with different cultures. 1. What recommendations would you make to a foreigner who wants to visit your country? 2. Do your recommendations include positive and negative things? Ss will discuss those questions in BOR for three minutes.

Layout (4-5 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

Provide the model for the writing task, Focus on the organization of Dos and Don'ts. Instructions: Ss will analyse the reading for gist; then the teacher will guide the Ss to answer some questions in Google Slides.

Useful Language (7-7 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

Cover MF and A. T will elict from Ss: Meaning: The teacher will elicit from ss meaning according to examples in Slides. Form: While showing examples in the slide, elicit ideas of Form from Ss. Appropriacy: While the teacher shows the words elicit from Ss.

Parallel Writing Practice (3-5 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

The adapted task od Dos and Don'ts to get learners to practice the layout and language.

Free Writing (12-12 minutes) • to provide Ss the opportunity to practice target productive skills.

To get the learners to practice the language meaningfully, using Padlet.

Feedback and Error Correction (11-11 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

The teacher will conduct OCFB, then DEC correcting inaccurate language.
