Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T shares Google Slide. T instructs Ss they have 4 minutes to discuss in breakout groups: "In your group, talk about the major decisions you have made in your life. Talk about how things in your life would have turned out differently if you didn’t make those decisions." T puts Ss into breakout groups. They return for OCFB (1 minute)

Exposure (2-3 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

T instructs Ss they will have 3 minutes to quickly read a text and answer the question. T share Google Form link and then shares screen to demo how to answer the question. Then T goes over answer with OCFB.

Highlighting (4-6 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

T shares next Google Form. T instructs Ss they have 4 minutes to answer the questions in the next Google Form. They will work in break out groups. T shares screen and demos how to answer questions. After they finish, T will go over answers in OCFB

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Meaning: T shares Google Jamboard with phrases that the Ss must Match with the correct meaning. T states that Ss will work in their breakout groups to answer do this exercise. They have 1.5 minutes, then T goes over correct answers in OCFB (1 minute) Form: T shares next Google Jamboard slide with phrases that the Ss must match with the correct grammatical phrases. T states that Ss will work in their breakout groups to answer do this exercise. They have 1.5 minutes, then T goes over correct answers in OCFB (1 minute) Pronunciation: T shares 9th Jamboard slide with Pronunciation exercises. T demos pronunciation of phrases, Ss identify stress and linking words. T drills Ss on pronunciation of phrases. Appropriacy: T addresses the last phrase on the Pronunciation Jamboard. Ss practice speaking this phrase as a good outcome and as a bad outcome.

Controlled Practice (3-4 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

T instructs Ss they will have 2 minutes to read the text and answer the questions. T share Google Form link and then shares screen to demo how to answer the question. Then T goes over answer with OCFB.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

T instructs Ss to discuss the major decisions you have made in your life. Use the language we have practiced today to discuss how things in your life would have turned out differently if you didn’t make those decisions. T places Ss into breakout rooms to discuss (8 minutes) Ss return for OCFB

Delayed Error Correction (2-4 minutes) • To identify examples of language use during class.

T uses Zoom Whiteboard to discuss examples of correct and incorrect language use. Ss make corrections as needed
