Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

After a small talk with students , I will show them 2 different pictures in a PPT. They will see a girl with a dog in each photo. There will be written questions next to a photo.I will wait the students to answer the questions . They will decribe the feelings of the girls and the pysical change that they have. After eliciting the answers, I will ask the students' hobbies and fears to engage them.

Pre-Reading (3-6 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

In this stage of my lesson, I will have a PPT to preteach the students some new words which they'd better know before reading the text. During the stage, under each photo there is a gap and I will ask the students to scan some parts of the text to place the given word in this gap and read the sentence. I wil pronounce each word and ask the students to repeat it.

While-Reading 1 (2-4 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading tasks

In this stage, we will continue with PPT. The students will be asked to skim the text in a minute to get an overall idea about the fear of the person of each paragraph. Then, I will ask them to match the pictures with names in the text. There will be 3 pictures, 3 paragraphes and 3 names. Besides, they will be asked some critical thinking questions. For example: "Why does she close her eyes? After each answer, I will show them the correct answer with the specific name of the phobia.

Post-Reading (5-7 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

During this stage, the students will be asked to scan the text carefully in 2 minutes. After that, we will play an online game called "Guess who?" on Wordwall website. In the game, the students will click the screen to open one of the 6 boxes. In each box, there will be some sentences needs to be completed with the names of the people in the text.

Post-Reading (3-5 minutes) • to check if the subsidiary aim is succeeded.

In the last stage of my lesson, The students will play another online game in order to remember and memorise the specific names of the phobias. The game is called "Random Wheel". The students will click and spin the wheel. When the wheel stops ,they will read the definition and tell the name of the phobia.
