Description

In this lesson students are introduced to several new adjectives. First, they have to look and answer some basic stupid fucking questions about every day objects. Then, there is a word matching with pictures and then they have to choose some words and draw pictures of them. Then they look and read something. Finally, they read, write and draw lines.

  • To provide clarification of adjectives/opposite words in the context of people, things, animals

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Start by drawing pictures on the whiteboard with a single sentence below eliciting adjectives. Make them fun and engaging.

Exposure (5-10 minutes) • To provide a model of the task and highlight useful words and phrases

Show ALL EXERCISES and underline the opposite words. Have Ss give examples and use these opposite words.

Task 1 (4-5 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Have Ss complete exercise A on their own as a challenge. EMPHASIZE THAT THEY ARE DOING IT ON THEIR OWN AND THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE CLEAR.

Feedback (3-5 minutes) • To assess Ss's ability to complete the task

Have Ss share their answers to exercise A

Task 2 (2-4 minutes) • To provide further practice with TL

Give instructions that this is an individual activity. Then follow up with a quick WCFB.

Task 3 (5-10 minutes) • To provide freer practice with TL

Instruct Ss to pick 3 of these sentences and draw a picture for each one. Model if necessary

Task 4 (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with practice of the task language

Go through as a whole class exercise D & E. If time play some dumb opposite word game.
