Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (8-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Show pictures of my family and elicit response from the ss. - questions using to be Who is that? Where are you? Is that your daughter? etc. How old is ....? Ss do vocabulary matching exercise. EX1 p6 - PW and speaking exercises EX2, 3 - PW / GW

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Ss do vocabulary matching exercise. EX1 p6 - PW and speaking exercises EX2, 3 - PW / GW Show pictures of families and elicit ideas e.g. circus - village - Africa - big family

While-Reading/Listening #1 (5-5 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist task.

Ss read one text and match pictures to text. PW - FB before whole class.

While-Reading/Listening (5-8 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed reading task

Ss read and then answer the questions. - EX5 Check answers in pairs / groups

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Jigsaw reading - ss change partners and tell new partner about the family they read about and answer the questions about the other text.

post-reading speaking for fluency (5-5 minutes) • to give ss an opportunity to reflect on the reading text and

Ss discuss questions related to the text. Which family has the best life? Why? Do you think the life of these families is good for the children? Why? Do you think a big family or a small family is best? Why?
