greeting and introduction lesson
A1 level

Description

in this lesson students learn how to introduce themselves and greet each other. the lesson starts with an ice breaking activity. i ask my class to form a circle and say their names then i throw a ball to one of the students they have 2 second to say someone elses name and throw the ball to them before it explodes and they are out of the game. this game continues until only one student remains. after the ice breaking i continue my lesson with playing a video for them. we watch greeting and introduction in different parts of cartoons. when we finish i use puppets to sing and repeat what they heard in the video then i ask them to talk instead of one of the puppets , individually and in groups. then i give them the puppets , two by two to repeat what they learned and i observe them to understand if they learned the lesson or not.

Procedure

warm up (5-10 minutes)

(time bomb name game ) i ask the students to form a circle and say their names , then i throw a tennis ball to one of them , they have 2 seconds to say someone elses name and throw the ball to them before it "explodes" and they are out of the game .this game continues until only one student remains. this game help the students to remember each others names.

main lesson (15-20 minutes)

i play a video for them with the subject of greeting and introduction to get familiar with the main lesson. after the video i use 2 puppets to teach them greeting and introduction. i can sing the sentences or change my voice to make them listen. then i ask them to say the sentences instead of one of the puppets or divide them into two groups and ask them to talk instead of puppets and switch role then repeat again .

activate (5-10 minutes)

i ask them to change their sitting position and sit in front of each other two by two and start the conversation they learned in the class and then they switch sits to talk with different people not just one person ( they can use puppets if they want to). at last i will have a conversation with them myself to analyse them more .
