Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T wil tell the SS that the pictures on the WB are related to each other in somehow. All the pictures talk about one thing .SS will talk in pairs trying to guess what is common between the picturtes on the WB.T elicit the answer from the SS that the context is "food eater groups."

Pre-Reading (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

T opens up a mini discussion with the SS on vegetarianism (the pros/cons and the reasons) then T asks SS how much it is practiced in their country. It is important to take time at the very beginning of the lesson to activate SS experiences with knowledge about this reading topic "food eater categories" this is called activating background schema.

While-Reading (20-22 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading tasks

T will divide the class into two groups A,B .Group A will read Text A and group B will read Text A .The two groups will read the texts in detailed reading along with answering the questions that are related to their text at the bottom of the page.(Since the language analysis for some vocabulary words which follow, practicing deduction of words in context , discourage use of dictionaries at this stage. So T asks SS to underline any new words they come across .) Then, SS in group A will share the ideas with the SS in group B.The two groups will answer the other questions in each other's texts. Then T asks the SS in their gropus to try to guess the meaning of the words they do not know. Then T will give his feedback about their guessing .At the end of this stage the SS will work together through both texts to answer the vocabulary questions on both texts.

Post-Reading (10-12 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

T will start an open discussion about the SS point on view on what they have read about the two persons (Helen and Kerry ).T shows the SS a picture of the two persons. This picture summarize the whole story for both of them . Also T will ask about the SS point of view about the whole topic of "food eater groups."
