Description

in this lesson, teenagers will have a discussion about online websites and different useful application that they use in real life. then, each one of them reads the paragraph of teenagers who take advantages from different website then they will ask and answer questions. at the end, they will do the activity which is in the book and requires that students should choose which website is useful for the teenagers in the book-due to his/her interest and field of study which they talked about it the paragraphs.

Materials

Main Aims

  • To enable teenage learners know about different useful online websites and improve their fast reading ability.

Subsidiary Aims

  • learning new vocabulary and developing their speaking and listening skills while having the discussion about the passage.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Through Skype, I will send links of the online websites and let them take a quick look to have an idea of what we are going to read and talk about what type of websites they usually use. discussion type

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

pre-teaching hard words by using pictures and online flashcards. predict what type of text and topic they are going to read.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

answer students' questions. giving further information whenever it's needed.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

discuss what they learned and understood from the text. ask them questions and answer the book's questions. discuss which website they are going to visit after reading the text. which website they are more interested in visiting it and why. USE KAHOOT application at the end for reflection.
