Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will ask my ss to discuss the following two questions. 1. Have you got lost somewhere? 2. How did you feel? I will ask T-ss to discuss these questions in the main room.

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-15 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

I will ask ss to read sentences using different examples of Get + Adjective. e.g. MEANING 1. Simon gets dressed and goes out to the forest. CCQ: I go to the forest? 2. He walks a great distance, but he realises that he has lost his way to the creek and gets lost in the forest. CCQ: Is Simon lost? / Simon walks long distance? 3. Simon gets cold and walks in circles. CCQ: Is Simon cold? 4. Simon gets tired; the darkness makes him stumble with the stones and branches. CCQ: Is Simon tired? / Did it get dark? 5. He gets hungry because he didn't eat food before, so he gets angry about this strange situation. CCQ: Does he get hungry? / Did he eat food before? / Is he angry? 6. Simon gets excited to return home. CCQ: Is Simon excited to arrive home? FORM I will elicit the Form from ss PRONUNCIATION 1. I will model words 2. I will ask ss number of syllables or stress. 3. I will ask ss to repeat or dril.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (3-5 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

I will ask ss to read out the sentences quickly and determine stress and Form.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (5-7 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

I will ask the students to fill, with ss need to complete the blanks using Get + Adjective. Once the ss finish the activity, they need to compare their answers in groups.

Post-Reading/Listening (5-8 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

I will ask my ss to discuss these questions: 1. What makes you get angry? 2. Have you ever got hurt? How was that? 3. What makes you get tired at work? 4. There is a moment during the day when you get cold? 5. What strong emotion makes you get excited? 5. What kind of food you buy when you get hungry? 6. You get lost easily when you arrive in a new city?
