Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T welcomes Ss back. Hope you had a great holiday. T shares Slide 1. T tells story of how I spent part of the holiday week shopping for cologne. T shares Slide 2 with Ss Do you enjoy shopping? What do you enjoy shopping for? T put Ss in breakout out rooms to go over questions. T gives Ss 2 minutes to discus and return. T monitors T provides feedback on BO rooms

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-10 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Worn T shows Ss shows students slide 3 with examples of present, past, past participle form on words eat and wore (Eat, ate, eaten and Wear, wore, _____). T elicits Ss to fill in the blank of the missing word. T shows Ss shows students slide 4 with examples of how to use worn in three sentence. (Have worn, Have you worn, Haven't worn) T practices the "w" sound in worn in the full form. Change my mind T shows Slide 6 T gives an example of how I changed my mind regarding a Cologne I a bought. T tells Ss I used to like this cologne but now I don't. What did I just do? T shows slide 7 T shows Ss shows students examples of a positive, a negative and a questions using "change my mind.". (I changed my mind about cologne. I didn't change my mind about the cologne, Did you change your mind about the cologne) T shows Ss how "ed" in changed and "d" in mind are muted.Crossing ed out.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-10 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

T says "For today's first task, Ss will listen to four people answering the question "Have you ever bought something that you've never worn?" What four articles of clothes did they buy? T will send the form to students and share slide show 9 with Ss T says students will listen to the audio once and identify the articles of clothing mentioned in audio. T will give Ss 1 minute to identify the articles of clothing on form and place a check mark on it. (1 minute) T will check if the students found the answers. T will put Ss into break out groups to discuss the answers. (2 - 3 minutes) T will return Ss to full group and selects three different students to answers questions. (2 - 3 minutes)

While-Reading/Listening #2 (10-10 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

T says to Ss "Now we will listen to the audio for detail" and I want you to identify "what was the problem with the clothes?" T plays audio T confirms if students identified the answers and if they need to listen to audio again? Ss will complete second part of exercise individually. "what was the problem with the clothes?" (2 Minutes) T outs Ss in breakout groups (3 to 4 minutes) T monitors Ss T returns Ss from BO groups and discuss the answers. Select 4 different students to share their answer with the class. (2 minutes)

Post-Reading/Listening (9-15 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

T says to Ss "think about a funny or interesting story regarding something you bought and never wore or used. (3 to 5 minutes). T puts Ss on breakout groups to discuss this story with your group and pick the funniest one to share with class. (3 -5 minutes) T monitors Share each group's funny story with class.(3 to 5 minutes)
