Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of Future Continuous and Future Perfect in the context of Communications and Technology

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a Debate in the context of Different types of communication that could happen in the future

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

S look at picture S get in brekaout rooms and discuss Q's: (3 minutes) 1) How often do you use the following communication 2) What for? S discuss altogether

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

S reads the article and answers questions independently (5 min) 1) What kind of person is the writer? 2) What's his attitude toward modern means of communication? S answers altogether in group discussion (3 min)

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

S thinks of own opinion on the topic. S discusses in breakout rooms what they think with other S (4 min)

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Meaning: 3 min S makes guess about the definition of future perfect and continuous. S answers cqc's Form: 3 min T explains quickly the form of each has the student read an example. S match examples to future perfect or continuous Pronunciation: 2 min T says sentence out loud S says what part of the sentence is stressed S repeats the sentence.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

T explains to read the list of activities for Jay Fielding. S get in breakout rooms and discuss Q's regarding reading (6 Minutes) T+S come together to find answers to questions.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

S speak with each other about questions regarding communication. (8 Minutes) How do you think you will be communicating with________ in 50 years? 1) Friends and Family? 2) Coworkers or boss? 3) Strangers and new people you meet? What are new ways of communication that will form? S comes together and answers questions regarding DEC.
