In this lesson studetns will have the opportunity to practice their productive skills in writing, they will produce a Synopsis for their favorite movie and also they will be clarified some language.

Main Aims

  • To provide product writing practice of a synopsis in the context of movies

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide gist reading practice using movie synopsis.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Students will be shown some pictures of trending movies and will be asked if they have seen any of them, and if they have, they will be asked to provide a plot summary.

Useful Language (5-7 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

T will ask students to open a link which will take them to a jamboard where they will have to match words with their meaning and form. afterwards T will drill pronunciation and will elicit word stress.

Content preparation (5-7 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

T will ask students to open a link that will take them to a jamboard where they will have to read some movie synopsis and then they will have to match the movie image to its synopsis.

Productive Task(s) (12-15 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Students will be asked to produce a synopsis for one of their favorite movies, they will have a model text to guide themselves, the synopsis they write should be at least 250 words long.

Peer Sharing (8-10 minutes) • To give students the opportunity to correct their peers and also share ideas on how to better produce a text.

After finishing their movie synopsis, students will work in pairs and will exchange their wirtten tasks for peer correction.

Feedback and Error Correction (2-5 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language
