In this lesson I will teach sports adjectives for speaking task.

Main Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a in a conversation in the context of sports


Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T shows a slide about Sports ( general Questions) T ask Ss about the questions. T Demo Ss compare their responses ( Breakout rooms) T elicits a few ideas from learners. T conducts OCFB and writes learners’ ideas on the board.

Content preparation (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through Speaking

T shows Questions about personal sports information. Ss Prepare questions about their favourite Sports. using adjectives. T Demo Ss work in pairs ( Breakout rooms) Teacher together with students matches up images and adjectives and elicits the part of speech,

Language preparation (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive speaking

T shows a slide about agreement and disagreement about sports. T ask Ss to write more opinions on the board T Demo Ss add and compare responses -ICQs: :Are we speaking for much detail? No Are we talking about indoor and outdoor activities? yes

Productive Task(s) Speaking (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Ss practice in breakrooms T monitoring

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

T Shows Students ' errors T covers MFP T writes on the screen samples of learners’ production and corrects for learners to identify the correct and incorrect sentences and correct the latter ones.
