Main Aims

  • To introduce and provide practice of speaking for fluency for talking about preferences in the context of a dream holiday.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide gist in the context of holidays.


Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Students will talk to each other about places they have traveled to before.

Content Preparation (6-7 minutes) • the purpose is to prepare Ss to the content of the task.

Students will listen to an audio and determine which locations they think would be best for the couple to visit.

Language Preparation (6-7 minutes) • the purpose is to prepare Ss with the language needed for the task.

I will go over each phrase of the useful language with the students repeating after me.

Productive Task(s) (20-21 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice speaking using the target language.

Students will role-play as a travel agent interviewing each other using the target language. In speaking task 2, students will share with a new partner where they decided to travel to. Students will conduct speaking task 2 again with a new partner.

Feedback and Error Correction (6-7 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

I will correct any mistakes and clear up any confusion. Students will share their travel plans with the class.
