In this lesson,the students will learn vocabulary(verbs) in context of a mystery story.
Reading for gist by skimming,guessing meaning and telling a story.
Procedure (30-45 minutes)
T will ask them some question about their weekend routine ,how do they spend it.Do they watch movies? Have they ever seen some fictional or mysterious movie of a missing person.
T gives the students handout of the film story to read in pair.The story is divided into five parts.After they read in pairs ,T divide them into two group as jigsaw reading to order and understand the story.
T asks the students to pay attention to underlined words in the given story.Then he gives them handout of vocabulary items to guess their meaning.Ss work in pairs and check their partners.Then T clarify them meaning,pronunciation and form of the vocabulary words.
T give the student an activity on choosing the best phrases to complete the conversation.Ss work in pairs and check their partners either they common answers.
T asks the students to mime or gesture the vocabulary.Students perform non verbal responses and do the action to check the meaning
T writes vocabulary items on the WB and asks the students to invent story on brother/son/daughter/sister who does not want to go to school.
