Description

In this lesson, students will write about their own typical day based on the reading text they read. Students will also have the opportunity to revise the topic of adverbs of frequency, which they learned in the previous lesson.

Main Aims

  • To provide writing practice of an article in the context of typical day by using a reading text as a model

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide review of adverbs of frequency in the context of a reading text about the life in a day of the superstar DJ

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (0-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T greets Ss and asks if they like listening to music and their favourite singers. Ss individually answer the questions. T shows a short video related to the superstar DJ David Guetta.

Exposure (0-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading

T gives the instruction to the class and wants Ss to read the article once and answer the big question. T gives 4 mins to Ss to complete this activity. T shows T/F sentences about the article and gives 4 mins Ss work in groups and they do the activity. T gives the correct answers at the end of the time.

Useful Language (0-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

T directs Ss to learningapps.org Ss complete the tasks, working individually. T wants Ss to say some sentences about themselves that contains one of the adverbs of frequency.

Productive Task(s) (0-10 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

T gives the instruction to Ss. Ss write about their typical day in 10 mins.

Feedback and Error Correction (0-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

Ss share their writings. T gives appropriate feedback and corrects errors if necessary.
