In this lesson learners will focus on receptive skills of reading and sub skill gist reading and as out put of the class will be productive skills of speaking. The context of the lesson is based on holiday and holiday advertisements on internet. students are familiar with this topic because they have studied holidays and traveling in last few sessions. In this session students will read and test their understanding. In this lesson students will do different activities which involves reading, such as matching pictures with the type of holidays and matching the type of holidays with various description of holidays and then they will read some people talking about their holiday preference and match it with picture again. The main practice in this lesson for students is they will practice how to relate the reading with the real life things or topics, these activities of relating the reading texts to the pictures or preference texts with pictures will make students practice the skill for reading for meaning which is very useful in day to day life. These activities will help student to derive the meaning from the text by reading the small text i.e. gist reading, and also for reading advertisements of holidays, food, offers, transport notices etc. most of the activities will be reading and then students will be discussing after the reading. Apart from the lead in teacher will play a passive role and will be monitoring students for the errors and to provide assistance. The out put of the lesson will be speaking where students will be asked to make a list of holiday destinations in their country and make a list about the best features of those places.

Lead-in(3-5) • To review the context and pre teach the vocabulary

Teacher will also write some names of famous holiday cities from turkey, such as Bodrum, Antalya, etc. Then the teacher will show some more pictures and elicit and pre-teach the vocabulary. The teacher will show some pictures and elicit the vocabulary, teacher will use the pictures related to the text and later put those pictures on the board, so that the context stays real for student when they read.

Reading activity1 (7-8 minutes) • To practice gist reading for information

Students will be given two handout's, two sheets with pictures with designated letters showing the different activities, and second hand out with description containing types of holidays, e.g. Sea holiday, Adventure holiday, Haunted holiday etc Firstly, they will match the type of holiday with the picture and then the pairs within the group will discuss about the holidays with each other. to check the answers the teacher will write the name of the activity and students will come and write the name of the picture on the board

Reading activity 2 (8-10 minutes) • match the holiday with their type

students will read the advertisement defining the holidays and they will match it with the corresponding pictures. this activity will help them to read the short advertisements or notices and understand the context or predict the meaning without reading the detail. the students will work in a pair and after finishing they will check their answers with other pairs

Activity 3 (10-12 minutes) • matching the text with the website

students will read the text where people are describing their choice of holiday and they will decide which type of holiday from the web page the holiday matches. this activity will help the students to read and combine two information for a meaning and context. they will do this task in a pair and this task will be followed by a speaking task where students swap their partners and tell them which holiday they like from the four which not. teacher will monitor while students are sharing their likes and dislikes

speaking activity 1 (8-10 minutes) • produce a output of their choice of holiday

students will role play like a travel agent and think of their favorite city from turkey and make a holiday plan and try to explain it to their partner and then swap roles and do same. Teacher will monitor and help them or notice their errors
